William "Billy" Sikes

February 1, 1939 — June 3, 2025

William “Billy” Sikes, 86, entered into rest Tuesday, June 3, 2025. He was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County. He was retired from TTX Railroad and was a member of the Waynesboro Church of God. Billy was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sally and Arthur Sikes; his wife, Jane Sikes; and his daughter, Shannon Mason.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammie Hayes (Jerry) of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Jeremy Hayes (Susie) of Norfolk, VA and Addison Mason of Baltimore, MD; a grandson, Hudson Hayes; a sister, Dianne Nunnally (Ron) of Waynesboro; a special nephew, Brian Nunnally; and several other nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held 12:00pm Monday, June 9 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Matt Wigley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Remembrances may be made to the charity of one’s choice or to the Waynesboro Church of God.
