William D. Murphy

William D. Murphy, 67, entered into rest Wednesday, May 15, 2024. He was born in Augusta to the late Gladys and Roy Murphy and has been a lifelong resident of Burke County. He was a hard worker, an avid hunter, and enjoyed cooking, especially on holidays. William loved people. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Pat Murphy.

He is survived by two daughters, Denise Murphy (Tony) of Myrtle Beach and Theresa Smith (Gary) of Hephzibah; granddaughter, Tina Moore (William) of Blythe; eight grandchildren, Brandon Angelo, Brittany Angelo, Mary Angelo, Lee Solt, Loretta Angelo, Cassie Smith, Sarah Smith, and Gary Smith; and four great grandchildren, William Moore, Preston Moore, Emersyn Rose Moore, and Jay Angelo.

Memorial Services will be held 3:00pm Sunday, May 19 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bruce Allen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
