Susie Frazier Barefield

Susie Frazier Barefield, 79, entered into rest Wednesday, August 12, 2026. She was born in Girard and was a lifetime resident of Burke County. She retired from The True Citizen. Susie attended Bethany Church and Green Fork Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Minnie and J.L. Frazier; her husband, James W, Barefield; and a daughter, Julie Rebecca Barefield.

She is survived by her son, Shawn Barefield (Melissa) of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Cameron Barefield (Caitlin Lancaster), Keegan Barefield, Everly Barefield, Baylie Lovett (Walker Hager), and Mollie Lovett; one great grandson, Carter Dean Lovett; two sisters, Melba Kicklighter and Louise McClain; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Friday, August 14 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tom Tidwell officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
