Shirley Wilson Bell

Shirley Wilson Bell, 81, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, September 5, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Fannie and Waldo Wilson, Sr. and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother and wife and loved her family very much. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Ansley; three sisters, Cornelia Edwards, Peggy Leiby, and Diane Shepard; and two brothers, Leonard Wilson and Rusty Wilson.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert Bell; two daughters, Stephanie Cope (Don) of Sardis and Rebecca Cook (Beau) of Waynesboro; six grandchildren, Jordan Ansley, Chandler Ansley, Wilson Cook, Felton Cope, Parker Cook, and Carson Cope; two great grandchildren, Elizabeth Claire Ansley and Benjamin Thomas Ansley; two brothers, Waldo Wilson, Jr. and Randy Wilson (Cheryl); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, September 8 in the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt Shryock officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at 3:30 pm in the Sardis Baptist Cemetery with Joseph Dixon officiating.
