Sandra Moody

Sandra Moody, of Waynesboro, Georgia, passed away on April 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She shared 56 loving years of marriage with her husband, Emory Moody; and was a devoted mother to Tammy Benbow (Allen). She was a proud “Gaga” to Kalen Dupuis (Kazz), Heather Lancaster (Michael), and Gavin Benbow; and a cherished “Great Gaga” to five great-grandchildren.

One of Sandra’s greatest passions was golf. She was not just a good golfer—she was extraordinary. She achieved seven holes-in-one, including one at one of the most prestigious golf courses in the world, The Augusta National Golf Club. Over the years, Sandra competed in numerous Georgia State Golf Association tournaments and Women’s Amateur Championships. Her many accomplishments included winning the Georgia Women’s Golf Association Four-Ball Net Championship in 2010 and 2016, the Gross Championship in 2016 and 2019, the Georgia Senior Women’s Golf Association Team Championship in 2008, and the Super Senior Championship in 2021. She and Emory also enjoyed playing side-by-side for eight years with CSRA Couples Golf.

A longtime member of the Central Savannah River Area Women’s Golf Association, Sandra played out of Goshen Plantation, Point South, Applewood, and Gordon Lakes (now Eisenhower Lakes). She won the Montenyohl Championship five times and was honored as a Lifetime Member of the CSRA WGA in 2016.

Sandra will be remembered for her spirited personality, warmth, sense of humor, and her unique ability to make everyone feel valued. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Memorial Services will be held 3:00pm Thursday, April 23 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bruce Allen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
