Richard L. Wilson

January 22, 1954 — August 11, 2013

The Lord called Richard L. Wilson, Jr., 59, of Waynesboro, Ga. home Sunday, August 11, 2013.Upon a knoll of Washington County overlooking beautiful Cambridge, NY, Rick came to this world the first son to Richard Leroy and Cecile Emilda Spencer Wilson, each predeceased.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Wilson; Son, Richard Patrick Wilson; Daughter, Sherrie Jean Stockholm; step-son and wife, Chris and Veronica Neely; precious grandchildren Joshua and Sammy Neely; siblings Lynda Harrington, Sandie VanValkenburg, and K.O. Wilson; plus many nieces and nephews.

Rick was earnest, plus proficient in many things.His "green thumb" was evidenced in the many beautiful flower gardens at his home.One of his passions in life was meteorology.Rick traveled the U.S. extensively.He harbored as three of his favorite places serene Alma, Ga where Mary and he enjoyed many years together, Asilomar Rock where vast Pacific Ocean meets Pacific Grove, Ca., and glacially-cut, Vroman's Nose escarpment of bountiful Schoharie County, NY, the centerpiece of his youth in Middleburgh.

The family is extremely appreciative of DeLoach-McKerley Funeral Home.A future date will be set for a private celebration of life.
