Daniel T. Bowen (Preacher Dan) entered his eternal rest February 6th, 2026, at home. He was born February 14th ,1934 in Campbellsville, KY. He spent most of his early life in Ohio and moved to Georgia after attending the Bible Institute at Bob Jones University in Greeneville, SC. He started out his ministry at Bethel Baptist Church in Union Point, then moved to Hephzibah, GA to Pastor Crossroads Baptist Church. He and his wife started Crossroads Christian School in 1976 and taught many students through 1994 when the school closed. He was a Pastor for 50 years, retiring at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Girard, GA after being an interim Pastor for 24 years.
He was an avid motorcycle rider. He rode dirt tracks in his younger years and rode his Triumph well into his 80s.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Ruth Bowen; a sister, Louise Forrer; his son, Rick Bowen; and a grandson, Edward Bowen.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Patricia Bowen; his daughter, Terre Strozier (Daniel); his son, Bill Bowen (Cathy); daughter-in-law, Lisa Bowen; grandchildren, Steve Strozier (Dannah), Stacy Spivey (Holt), Christy McCoy (Brad), Melissa Davenport (Madison), Raven Elliott, and Tristen Elliott; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and another on the way; niece, Charity Baughman; and nephew, Seth Baughman.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Crossroads Baptist Church with Pastor Josh Williams and Pastor Mike Cope officiating. Interment and a graveside service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Union Point, GA at 3:00 P.M. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
Pallbearers will be Dakota McCoy, Dalton McCoy, Steve Strozier, Tristen Elliott, Brad McCoy, and Madison Davenport.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Byron Lowery, Mike Jones, and Tripp Keen.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Baptist Church.
