Raymond Joseph Trenter, Jr.

Our beloved Raymond Joseph Trenter, Jr., 84, went into the presence of his Saviour on Saturday, September 12, 2026. He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond Joseph and Martha Trenter. He was married to Betty Bailey-Dant Trenter on March 19, 2003., who predeceased him in 2010. They had many glorious adventures together, including a mission trip to Russia. They flew children’s Bibles written in the Russian language to Russia for SOAR International. After the mission, upon arriving in the US, Ray had to literally disassemble the plane for inspection and then reassemble it. They then flew it back all the way to Georgia.

Ray was gifted in many areas. He had served in the Marines and was an avid sailor, motorcyclist, archaeological diver, pilot, musician, and could fix anything, being known as “The Wizard” in some circles.

Ray was a humble, God loving and serving man. He faithfully attended Burkehaven Chapel and the men’s Sunday School class at First Baptist Church.

Valerie, Ray’s sister-in-law, said, “Despite the distance, Ray was close to his nephews, Josh and Colin. They had several adventures together, and the boys loved their Uncle Ray.”

Besides his nephews, Ray is survived and loved by his stepchildren, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and his many friends and associates.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00am Wednesday, September 16 in the funeral home chapel with Jim Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the First Baptist Children’s Home in Baxley, GA.
