Sardis, GA.- Mr. Randy Morris Mills, 48, entered into rest Thursday night, September 2, 2010 at his home after an extended illness. He was born in Blythe, GA., on December 3, 1961 to Ralph Mills and the late Norma Jean Saturday. The life-long Burke County resident was a Contractor who worked for Keith Williamson Construction for many years until becoming a self employed contractor. Since his teenage years, he loved the drums, guitars, and rock n roll. He was the original drummer of the Delta Niners. He had a special interest in history, especially war history, which also kept him busy. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Kenneth Mills, and David Stanley Mills.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Wanda Cadle, of Sardis; son, David Cadle, of Sardis; daughter, Christy Long (Carol), of Girard; sister, Connie Mills, and her daughter, April Ford, of Franklin, NC; brother, Marty Mills, and his son, Aaron Mills, of Hephzibah; four grandchildren, Cassandra Cadle, Brittany Long, C.J. Long, and Haley Long "Haley Bug"; and one great grandson, Jacob Hunter.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, September 4 at the funeral home.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, September 5 at the funeral home with Rev. Wes Lawson officiating. Interment will follow at Clark's Chapel Cemetery on Springhill Church Rd., Hephzibah, GA (just off of Farmer's Bridge Rd.) Pallbearers will be Mike McLeRoy, Billy Ivey, Carol Long, Allen Newsome, Steve Murrell, Wade Oliver "Bo", Scott Newsome, and Jason Murrell.
