Pearl Margaret Hodges Smith

Pearl Margaret Hodges Smith, 84, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, peacefully passed away on January 6, 2025, at her home after a prolonged illness. She was deeply involved in her church community and passionately loved the Lord. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and her devotion to her family, especially to her husband, Reverend Robert “Bob” Aldon Smith, was unwavering. Pearl had a special gift for cooking, gardening, reading, and tracing her family’s roots through genealogy, and she brought warmth and love to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Margaret Hodges; and four siblings, Wendell Hodges, Faye Hodges, Janice Williams, and Phyllis Hodges.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bob Smith; three children, Robert Philip Smith (Mary), Stacey Allen Smith (Stacey B.) and Penney M. Harper (Tripp); four grandchildren, Benjamin Smith (Ashley), Ryan Kineman (Meagan), Haley Harper (Tyler), and Casey Smith; six great grandchildren, Carson Smith, Elijah Kineman, Jayden Seutter, Easton Kineman, Ace Kineman, and Ellison Jo Kineman; three siblings, David Hodges (Gail), Douglas Hodges (Nancy), and Sammy Hodges (Gwen); and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Saturday, January 11 at Faith Christian Fellowship Church in Sardis with Rev. Dr. Tim Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Sardis Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Benjamin Smith, Ryan Kineman, Carson Smith, Elijah Kineman, Dylan Edwards, and John Thomas Kitchens.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert P. Smith and Stacey A. Smith.

Pearl’s legacy of faith, love, and devotion will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Remembrances may be made to Faith Christian Fellowship Church.
