Nancy Stewart Blanchard, 74, entered into rest Saturday, December 26, 2020. She was born in Athens, GA to the late Naomi and Herbert Stewart and was a resident of Winder, GA before moving to Waynesboro in 1970. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was a member of the Sunshine Circle. Nancy was an avid tennis player. She retired from the Clerk of Court in 1998 and taught Bible study at Edmund Burke Academy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry "Hank" Hammond Blanchard, Jr.
She is survived by three children, Melinda Prescott (Jody), Denise Meeks (Brent), and Henry Blanchard III all of Waynesboro; and seven grandchildren, Robert Hammond Lamar Prescott, Sidney Carroll Prescott, Jacqueline Naomi Prescott, Nancy Grace Prescott, William Daniel Meeks, Andrew Davis Meeks, and Mallorie Anne Meeks.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am-12:00pm Wednesday, December 30 at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be held 12:00pm Wednesday, December 30 at Burke Memorial Gardens with Rev. Isaac D. Salgado officiating.
