Margaret Anita Hatcher

Margaret Anita Hatcher, 75, entered into rest Monday, October 21, 2024. She was born on August 9, 1949, to the late Francis and Mary Hill Hatcher. Anita graduated Waynesboro High School in 1967 and was a proud Waynesboro Hurricane and that is where her love of cheerleading began. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Georgia in 1971 and her Education Specialist degree from Augusta University in 1996. She taught school for close to 30 years and truly loved her co-workers and students. She especially enjoyed her years as cheerleading coach for the Burke County Middle School. She loved the Burke County Bears and Cubs. She spent most of her Friday nights cheering on the Bears. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her sister, Mary Frances Solomon.

She is survived by three brothers, Cecil B. Hatcher of North Augusta, SC, Bobby Randall of Atlanta, GA, and Johnny Randall of Savannah, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm November 7 at the funeral home.
