Mamie Jo Davis, 68, entered into rest Wednesday, August 17, 2022. She was a native and lifelong resident of Burke County. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Girard. She never met a stranger, kept everyone laughing, the love she showed anyone she met was only one of her many special gifts. Mamie Jo was a caring and loving mother, sister, and meme. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nora and Thomas “Son” Lamar Dixon; and two brothers, Dale Dixon and Troy Dixon.
She is survived by her son Shane Davis (Tonya); two grandchildren, Shelby Davis and Little Shane Davis; three sisters, Sylvia Glisson (Henry), Mary Ratliff, and Martha Robinson; two nephews, Bill Godbee (Becky) and Warren Glisson (Brandi); and five nieces, Tonya Posey (Kevin), Jennifer Broxton, Melissa Bailey (Eric), Stephanie Smith (Tee), and Tamara Dixon Mimmie (Trent).
Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm Saturday, August 20 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Byron Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive one hour prior to the service.
Remembrances may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church.
