It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Ryle, who was born on May 5, 1952, and passed away on October 19, 2025, in Waynesboro, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Wilson; mother, Annie O. Wilson; brother, Donald Wilson; and three grandchildren, Jack Ryle Jr, Hannah Ryle, and Jeremiah Ryle.
Linda leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, cherished by her three children: Clifford Palmer, Stephanie Baxley (Lonnie), and Jack Ryle (Shannon). She also leaves behind 8 beloved grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Lisa Thomas and Kitty Quick; a brother, Nick DeLaigle; and several nieces and nephews.
Linda was kind and loving daughter, sister, mother, and a cornerstone of her family. Her greatest joy was doting over her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Linda was a devout and faithful Christian. She carried a burden that many of us cannot imagine, yet through it all, she never lost her deep and abiding faith in the Lord. Her Christian conviction was a guiding light in her life.
She took immense pride in her professional career as a house painter and was very well known throughout the Augusta area for her work. Her passion, however, was also found in simple, joyful moments: taking rides with her granddaughter while listening to the music of Prince, enjoying trips to the beach, and spending treasured time with her daughter. Linda shared special traditions with her sons: she loved going fishing with her son, Cliff, and made sure to cook her son Jack’s favorite Christmas meal every year. She also found peace and pride, tending to her flowers and her yard.
Linda battled bravely against mucosal melanoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Despite the challenges she faced, Linda remained strong and steadfast in her fight, showing unwavering courage and resilience until the end.
Linda loved her brother and sisters dearly, and she will be profoundly missed by all those who loved her.
Memorial Services will be held 3:00pm Thursday, October 23 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kevin Jones officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
