Leonard David Hogan, Sr. was born May 28, 1931, in Hapeville, GA. He was mostly known by his family and friends as “Bo”. He lived his retired life in Waynesboro and entered into rest on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the age of 94.
Bo had a brief job as a mechanic for Delta Airlines before he entered the University of Georgia, where he graduated in 1954 with a degree in Forestry. He married Sara Anne Medlock in 1957. He worked for Kimberly-Clark his entire career and ended as Vice President of the Southeastern Forest Products Division. After his corporate career, Bo was a cattle and timber farmer for approximately 25 years. He loved showing his cattle to anyone who was interested.
Bo was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. He and Anne attended home games in Athens, as well as traveled to many away games. They were active members of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Eugene and Eula Leonard Williams Hogan; his wife, Sara Anne Hogan; two brothers, Fred Eugene Hogan, Jr. and Robert Lee Hogan.
He is survived by two children, Leonard David Hogan, Jr. (Carol) of Waynesboro and Rebecca Hogan Reynolds (Jerry) of Augusta; six grandchildren, Lauren Hogan Rocha (Sergio) of Charlotte, NC, Leonard David Hogan III of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Hamilton Charles Hogan (Alisha) of Waynesboro, Ryan Marcus Reynolds (Maria) of Alexandria, VA, Brantley Hogan Reynolds (Sara) of Waynesboro and Madison David Reynolds of Hampton, VA; seven great grandchildren, Emilia Rocha, Carolina Rocha, Henry Hogan, Grace Reynolds, Joseph Reynolds, Milo Reynolds, and Arthur Reynolds; two sisters, Mary Patrick and Frances Coleman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside service was held on October 11, 2025 at Magnolia Cemetery with Father Larry Jesion officiating. Pallbearers were Ryan Reynolds, Brantley Reynolds, Madison Reynolds, Hamilton Hogan, Sergio Rocha, and Steve Blackburn.
