Lena Cannady Barefield

Lena Cannady Barefield, 70, entered into rest Friday, January 26, 2024. She was born in Waynesboro to the late Edith and Alford Cannady and has been a lifelong resident. She was of the Baptist faith. Lena loved her family and enjoyed birds and flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Hopper.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ralph Barefield; two daughters, Jamie Rodriguez and Nancy Mills (Jamie) both of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren, Hunter Dixon (Nicole), Gracie Dixon, Caden Rodriguez, Abby Griffin (Justin), Braxton Hopper, Carson Hopper, Madison Mills (Josh), and Maxon Mills; four great grandchildren, Paisley, Porter, Ryder, and Kade; and two sisters, Anne Brosious (Don) of Evans, GA and Gwen Kidney of Brunswick, GA.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am Monday, January 29 at the funeral home with Memorial Services following at 11:00am. Tracy Pressley will officiate.
