Kathryn Chance Lovett

Kathryn Chance Lovett, 93, entered into rest Wednesday, May 20, 2026. She was born in Augusta and was a lifelong resident of Burke County. She was a member of the Waynesboro First Methodist Church. Kathryn was co-owner of Jackie B. Lovett Trucking Co., Inc. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Rowland Chance and Thompson Kennedy Chance, Sr.; her husband, Jackie Lovett; two brothers, Billy Chance, Sr. and Thompson Kennedy Chance, Jr.; and a sister, Jane Chance Howell. 

She is survived by a son, Johnny B. Lovett (Karen) of Waynesboro; two granddaughters, Kacey Johnson (Marcus) of Waynesboro and Kris Johnson (Jason) of Waynesboro; three great grandchildren, Bentley, Sophie, and Cason Johnson; a step great grandson, Jase Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services will be held 5:00pm Friday, May 22 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tim Fields officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 

Honorary Pallbearers will be employees of Jackie B. Lovett Trucking Co., Inc.
