Joseph Fredrick Oglesby, Sr.

Joseph Fredrick Oglesby, Sr., 75, passed away on Friday October 23, 2026, at his residence. He was born on August 21, 1951, to the late Thomas Jefferson Oglesby, Sr., and Juanita Barefield Oglesby. Joseph was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who will be truly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Royal Oglesby; a brother, Thomas Jefferson Oglesby, Jr.; and a sister, Barbara Jean Hill.

Surviving is a son, Joseph F. Oglesby, Jr. of Waynesboro; granddaughter, Brittany Oglesby (Logan Detwiller) of Millen; grandson, Joseph Tyler Oglesby of Waynesboro; brother, Mitchell Oglesby of Waynesboro; sister, Lottie McKinney of Waynesboro; his significant other, Margaret Corley of Louisville; and four great-grandsons.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Cross Community Church in Louisville.
