Joan Rogers Collins, age 92 and a lifelong resident of Waynesboro, passed away on Wednesday, September 17th, 2025. She was born on August 26, 1933, as the first child of Quinton and Winnie Rogers.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Collins; her parents; and two brothers, Jack Rogers and Jerry Rogers.
She is survived by her children: Chris and Elizabeth Collins, Connie and Frank Wills, and Kay Wilson; her grandchildren: Bobby Collins, Caroline and Will Barber, Scott and Alyssa Wills, Kelley and William Hopkins, Katy and Chris Stout, Chelsea Wilson, and Chase and Maci Wilson; her great grandchildren: William and Harris Barber, Lee and Kathryn Wills, Collins and Aiken Hopkins, Ford and Cal Stout, and Zoey and Beau Wilson.
Joan gave generously of her time and heart to her church family and in her younger days, to Edmund Burke Academy. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Waynesboro and the Spares and Pairs Sunday School class. Flowers, china painting, her yard, and Bible studies filled her days with joy.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 22nd at 12:00 pm at First Baptist Church Waynesboro with burial to follow at Burke Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at 11:00 am in the welcome center at First Baptist.
Active pallbearers will be Bobby Collins, Will Barber, Scott Wills, William Hopkins, Chris Strout, and Chase Wilson.
