Jerry A. Swearingen

Jerry A. Swearingen, 80, entered into rest Friday, March 24, 2023. He was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta and was a member of McBean Baptist Church. He loved to watch Gunsmoke, work in his yard, and spend time with his grandchildren. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Estelle Rumbley Swearingen; and a sister, Rosemary Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Brenda Swearingen; a daughter, Robin Walker (Scott) of Augusta; a son, Patrick Swearingen of Augusta; four grandchildren, Lee Smith of Augusta, Michael Prothman (Rachel) of Augusta, Kylee Zahner (Trevor) of Augusta, and Jessie Ligon (Chad) of Hephzibah; six great grandchildren, Paige, Mikey, Blakelee, Kenzlee, Luke, and Jenne; four brothers, David Maroney (Judy) of SC, Robert Swearingen (Jan) of Augusta, Jimmy Swearingen (Debbie) of Augusta, and Charles Wood (Melinda) of Evans; and numerous niece and nephews.

Remembrances may be made to the Shrines Hospital.
