James Lee Godbee, Sr.

James Lee Godbee, Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 7, 2022. He was born in Sardis, Georgia on December 29, 1959. He was a fun loving man, who liked to have a good time. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. During his free time, James enjoyed drawing and playing his guitar. James was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Lafayette Godbee Sr. and Frances Reddy Godbee; brothers, Theodore Lafayette Godbee Jr., and Robert Lamar Godbee; sisters, Irma Elizabeth Godbee Bernal, and Shirley Jean Godbee Crews.

He is survived by a son, James Lee Godbee Jr. of Abilene, Texas; three sisters, Martha Ann Godbee McClain of Alexander, GA, Brenda Faye Godbee Sheehan (James) of Evans, GA, and Kathy Renee Godbee Sikes of Jacksonville,FL; nieces, Janet McClain Canady (Neal), Susan McClain, Tina Godbee, Kimmie Bernal, Tammy Bernal, Jessica Bernal, Brenda Bernal, and Lydia Bernal; nephews, Jake McClain Jr., Mario Bernal Jr., and James Crews Jr.; and several great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held 3:00pm Monday, February 14, 2022 in the Deloach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Cobb officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
