Hilton "Bruce" Ward, Jr., 64, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019, at his residence. He was born in Augusta on October 3, 1954, to the late Hilton Bruce Ward, Sr. and Ocie Ray Anderson Ward.

Bruce was a hardworking and dedicated heavy machinery operator. He was known by his friends as the modern day Macgyver because he could fix anything. Outside of work, Bruce's favorite activity was fishing. He was of the Methodist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Carl Arnold.

Bruce is survived by his son, Hilton Bruce Ward, III of Sardis; sister, Paulette Ward Hensley (Brian) of Hephzibah; niece, April Mobley of Tallahassee, FL; and nephew, Brandon Taylor of Hephzibah.

A memorial service honoring Bruce will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, July 14, 2019, in the chapel of the DeLoach-McKerley-Prescott Funeral Home.
