Gloria Sharpe Williamson

Gloria Ann Sharpe Williamson, 81, of Waynesboro, Georgia, peacefully passed away at her home Saturday, August 22, 2026.

She was the daughter of the late Clifford Sharpe and Ollie Mae Sims Sharpe. Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, granny, sister, and friend whose love and presence touched the lives of many. She loved the Lord, her family, especially her grandbabies, fishing, cooking, gardening, and animals, even once having a pet raccoon named Sadie.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert Van Williamson; her son, Rodney B. Dickey; her sister, Judy Sharpe Crews; her stepchildren, Robert “Rip” Van Williamson and Kimberly Williamson Lind; step son-in-law, Brad Lind, and step daughter-in-law, Cathy Williamson.

Gloria leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her son, Michael W. Dickey (Alana); her beloved granddaughters, who affectionately called her Granny, Ansleigh Dickey Yawn (Devan) and Madison Anne Dickey; great grandchildren Caroline and Tate Yawn, whom she adored; her brothers, Jerry Sharpe (Barbara) and Clifford “Tony” Sharpe (Judy); her brothers-in-law, Gaylon Williamson (Joanne) and Alton Crews; and dear friend, Rhonda Clemens.

Gloria is also lovingly remembered by her stepchildren, Keith Williamson and Kelly Williamson and her grandchildren, Robert “Robby” Williamson and his children, Catherine Williamson Price (Keith) and their children, Blake Williamson, Trevor Lind (Sarah Catherine) and their children, Whisper James Daugherty (Kyle) and their children, and Trip James (Kenzie) and their children.

The family would like to especially thank all of her amazing caregivers, namely Nicky Singletary, April Widener, Wilnesha Mitchell, Glenda Campbell, Mary Frances Ingram, Kelli Joiner, Kim Albea, Becky Glosson, Kim Hill, and Judy Sharpe. We are forever grateful for the love and excellent care that you gave to her and to our family. Darin, Chris, and Emma Meyers of Savannah River ProHome Care, we truly cannot thank you enough for all that you did to ensure that our Granny received the best care possible. We would also like to thank the staff at Trinity Hospice, especially Tequila, Tom, Autumn, Heather, Faye, and Dr. Gibbs for your love, care, and compassion towards her and our family.

Funeral services will be held August 25, 2026, at 11:00am at DeLoach McKerley Prescott Funeral Home with her brother, Jerry Sharpe, officiating. Burial will follow at Piney Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Robby Williamson, Trevor Lind, Blake Williamson, Tripp James, and great nephews, Brandon and Trevor Sharpe.

May our sweet Granny rest peacefully, knowing she was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
