Gerald Willard Dixon, Sr., 71, entered into rest Tuesday, August 12, 2025. He was a member of Corinth Christian Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Gerald liked working on motors and working on the farm. He had a great sense of humor, was a practical joker, and there wasn’t a problem that he couldn’t fix. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Gerald was preceded in death by his father, Shellie Willard Dixon; and a brother, Emory Frank Dixon.
He is survived by four children, Melissa Dixon (Cedric Bell) of Waynesboro, Gerald “Chip” Willard Dixon, Jr. (Sarah) of Hephzibah, Devin Chance (Herbert) of Sardis, and Jeremy Frank Dixon, Sr. (Creshawn) of Waynesboro; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; his mother, Carolyn Reagan Dixon of Guyton; three siblings, Gary Dixon, Bill Dixon, and Judy Idris all of Savannah; Kenny Dixon, who he thought of as a son; Kip Jenkins, who he thought of as a brother; best friends, John Durst and David Dixon; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, August 15 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Saturday, August 16 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jason Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Corinth Christian Church Cemetery.
