Charlotte Hickman Elliott

March 19, 1944 — August 15, 2024

Charlotte Hickman Elliott died peacefully in her sleep early Thursday morning, August 15, 2024. Charlotte was born on March 19,1944, to the late Robert Lamar Hickman and the late Dora Mallard Hickman at their home in Girard, Ga. She graduated from SGA High School in Sardis, GA in 1962. Soon after high school, she was married to her high school sweetheart and began working at Southern Bell in Millen, GA, followed by several years at the Vanity Box in Millen, where she used her keen sense of fashion to help her customers dress for success. Charlotte then settled into a lifelong career in banking at The Bank of Waynesboro, where she began building cherished relationships, serving her customers and friends for over 30 years until her retirement.

Charlotte loved her home designed and built for her by her husband Jerry and it served as her place of comfort and joy. Her home was also the gathering spot for Sunday dinners and holiday celebrations for many years. As much as she loved her home, she also loved music and would never miss an opportunity to dance whether it was in her home with her grandchildren, a family celebration, or in the isle at a concert. She also loved to travel with her husband and explore well visited or new destinations for fine food and entertainment. She never missed an opportunity to seize moments of joy, laughter or tears in moments of sadness when there was a need for her comforting gentle voice and hugs. She was an impeccable dresser and is remembered for always looking her best no matter the occasion.

The loss of our dear Charlotte, that was a wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, will leave a void in our hearts that could never be replaced.

Family was the most important thing to Charlotte, she is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Jerry Wren Elliott; two sons, Wren Hickman Elliott (Julie) and Robin Jerry Elliott (Denise); four grandchildren, Hunter Reed Elliott (Jessi), Tanner Bryce Elliott (Courtney), Lindsey Wren Elliott, and Jacob Robin Elliott (Destiny); three great grandchildren, Reed, Wren, and Ridge; two brothers, Bob Malabar Hickman (Marsaletta) and Terry Lamar Hickman (Alaine); and five nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Preceding her in death were her two sisters, Freida Hickman Robinson and Donnie Gail Hickman. More than sisters these three along with Cathy Wynn were best friends.
