Charles “Rob” Claxton, Sr., 65, entered into rest Sunday, January 11, 2026. He was born in Augusta and has been a longtime resident of Waynesboro. He was the owner of Rob’s Bait and Tackle for 17 years. Rob was of the Baptist faith. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed welding, working on cars, going to ceramic classes, and carpentry. Rob was very supportive of his son, Rob, Jr., volunteering at S.C. Bricks Lego User Group events whenever he could. He loved cats and dogs, especially his dog, Belle. Rob was a loving husband and father and will be missed dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ann Claxton Eskew.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Olivia Greiner Claxton; a son, Charles Robert Claxton, Jr.; two aunts, Patricia Clark of Louisville, GA and Sara Fails of Keysville; and numerous cousins.
Memorial Services will be held 1:00pm January 31 at Magnolia Springs State Park.
