Billy Nelson "Buffy" Hammock

Billy Nelson Hammock “Buffy”, 59, entered into rest Thursday, August 20, 2026. He was born in Waynesboro and was a longtime resident of Girard. He was a devout Christian and was of the Baptist faith. Buffy was a hard worker and enjoyed doing tree work, working in his yard, and riding his bicycle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Walter Moody Hammock, Sr.; a daughter, Amanda Hammock; and a brother, Walter Moody Hammock, Jr.

He is survived by two children, Andrew Hammock (Kelly) and Billy J. Hammock; three grandchildren; a sister, Ann Vickery; a brother, Johnny Hammock (Camilla); his niece and caregiver, Evelyn Vickery; and several other nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00am Saturday, August 29 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve Sirmons officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
