Barbara Adelle McCartney

Barbara Adelle Howard McCartney was born March 10th, 1968, in Pascagoula, Mississippi to WB and Betty Tillman Howard and passed away May 11th, 2026. She was the seventh of seven sisters. She was raised and educated in Pascagoula and on May 11th, 1985, was married to Jeff McCartney of Wood River, Nebraska.

While serving in the Navy, Barbara and Jeff lived in Vallejo, CA, Norfolk, VA, New Orleans, LA, and Pascagoula. After retiring from the Navy, Barbara and Jeff moved to Sterling, NE, where they resided for 24 years. Along the way, they raised two sons Joshua born in 1988 and Levi born in 1994. Barbara and Jeff had recently relocated to Hephzibah, GA to be near their new grandson Nolan McCartney and their son Levi and his wife Valerie West McCartney. Barbara and Jeff were together for 41 years.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, WB Howard; mother, Betty Howard; son, Joshua McCartney; two sisters, Frances Taylor and Mary Callahan; brother-in-law, Joseph Callahan, and nieces and nephews, Amanda, Danny, and Shane Callahan.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff; son, Levi McCartney (Valerie); grandson, Nolan McCartney; sisters, Venus Callahan (Joeseph), Wanda Dedeaux, (Richard), Nancy Varnadoe (Jeff), and Tammy Wilkerson (Roger); and several nieces and nephews.
