It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Angela Lee, a cherished member of our community, who departed this life on Tuesday, May 20,2025, at the age of 71.
A lifelong storyteller, Angela was a gifted author, journalist, and photographer, whose words touched heart and sparked minds. Her writing, often rooted in local history, illuminated the lives of those around her and gave voice to stories that might otherwise gone unheard. Her dedication to truth and insight, and empathy defined her work and earned her the respect of her colleagues and readers alike as a proud employee of The True Citizen and The Sylvania Times.
Beyond her professional accomplishments Angela was deeply devoted to her family, especially in her role as a loving aunt.
Angela was preceded in death by her parents, Emily Bazemore and Weyman Brantley Lee and sister, Janet McDaniel.
She is survived by Garrett McDaniel and Lainey Coleman, her nephew and niece and their families. As well as countless friends.
A memorial Service will be held on Friday June 6th, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Burke Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro, where all are welcome to come share memories and celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Burke County Library, in honor of Angela D. Lee’s enduring legacy of compassion and storytelling.
